Our Mission:
Treat every pet as an individual by providing personalized care and treatment options that best meet the needs of each animal and its human provider; including proactive preventive health care, diligent root cause diagnostics for illness, pet owner education, and responsive and compassionate emergency care.

Coronavirus Special Notice:

Lima Veterinary Center is committed to protecting the health and safety of both our clients and their pets during the current coronavirus situation. We are taking extra measures throughout our hospital facility to prevent spread of the virus and protect both our clients and staff including the following measures:
  1. We are postponing wellness and elective care visits and we have temporarily reduced office hours as noted above. This helps us reduce exposure and increase the likelihood our staff will remain healthy so we can continue providing urgent care and dispensing prescription medicine/foods.

  2. We are still providing full services for sick or at-risk pets, puppy/kitten vaccinations, rabies vaccinations, urgent care during office hours and emergency services for our current patients 24/7. Messages will be checked throughout the day.

    1. Please call ahead for an appointment or in the case of an emergency.
    2. Remain in your car when you arrive and call to let us know you are here; the door may be locked. We will come get you when the doctor is ready to treat your pet. Only one person may come into the building with your pet, and that person must be wearing a mask. If you do not have a mask, a disposable paper mask may be purchased for $2.

  3. All prescription medications and special diet foods are still available for pick-up. This includes flea, tick and heartworm prevention which we think is pretty important this time of year.

    1. Please call ahead so we can prepare your order for quick pick-up.
    2. Please remain in your car when you arrive and call to let us know you are here; the door may be locked. We will provide instruction at that time regarding pick up procedures. Only one person may come into the building, and that person must be wearing a mask. If you do not have a mask, a disposable paper mask may be purchased for $2. Curb-side pick up may be available if you are paying by check.
  1. Large animal mobile services (farm visits) are still available for both wellness care and urgent/emergency services. Schedule your horses’ spring vaccinations now while you’re home.

    1. We ask that only one person (preferably the owner if they are healthy) be present during the appointment. That person must wear a mask.

Please be assured, while we always maintain a high level of sanitation both at the hospital and mobile unit, we have put additional practices in place to help ensure everyone’s safety including cleaning all touched surfaces between each visit and organizing traffic flow to optimize social distancing. If you are sick, please stay home and send a healthy family member or friend in your place.

Lima Veterinary Center includes a full service small animal hospital and a mobile unit for large animal farm service. Dr. Ken Bedell, DVM provides all veterinary services and personally invests the time needed to get to know you and your pet family.

We want to be more than the place you come when your pet is ill or injured. By making Lima Veterinary Center your pet’s primary care center for all their health care needs, we can partner with you to provide consistent care, early detection and treatment of illness, and maximize your pet’s years of quality life.

Additionally, Dr. Bedell provides after hours emergency services for his current patients. (please see terms and conditions) making those high-stress situations a little easier for both you and your pet.
